Swedish Flower Hen
The Swedish Flower Hen is a landrace breed. This means that the breed developed naturally over hundreds of years. As a Darwinist creation, human intervention and selective breeding never played a role in the development of the breed. Chicks hatched from random pairings of the strongest, hardiest birds in each flock to create a genuinely robust breed of chicken. The breed can have both crested and non-crested varieties but the Swedish Flower Hen crest is generally never so large as to impede the bird’s vision. Crests can range from simple sprigs atop the head to full and fluffy tassels. Our flock consists of non-crested roosters over crested and non crested hens. Flower Hens are considered a dual purpose chicken, favored for both its ability as an egg layer and for its meat. Hens far out-produce other breeds like Orpingtons. Swedish flower hen pullets eggs start out rather small but within a few months they'll be producing extra large eggs even in cold weather. Roosters can weigh in at over 8 lbs and are the largest breed of chicken native to Sweden.
There is a 8 chick minimum. You are welcome to mix and match breeds to reach the 8 chick minimum. All chicks come with an arrive alive guarantee!

Shipping Info
Hatching Eggs: We can not guarantee hatch rates due to many variables beyond our control during shipping. Rough handling, x-ray machines, fluctuating temperatures, and your experience with the actual incubation process all affect your hatch rate. By ordering hatching eggs from us, you accept this responsibility. We always try to include extra eggs to cover any that the shipper may crack while in transit. Please take a picture of any cracked eggs along with the package that the eggs came in showing any and all damage and email them to us as soon as possible. We will issue a refund on any damaged eggs that exceed the amount of extra eggs we sent you.
Chicks: We guarantee that our chicks will arrive alive. If any chicks arrive deceased then please email pictures to us ASAP. We will either replace or refund, at our discretion, any deceased chicks that exceed the value of free chicks you were sent. No refund will be given for shipping.
Vaccinations: Unless you specifically request otherwise your birds will be vaccinated for Marek’s disease. Please note that the Marek’s vaccine is not 100% effective, and even vaccinated birds may later contract Marek’s if the disease is present on your property. Marek’s is very common and often present in backyard flocks yet remains undetected because the flock is resistant to the disease. If you'd prefer that your chicks not be vaccinated then when checking out please include a note stating to not vaccinate.
Cancellations
No cancellations within 7 days of the scheduled shipping date for hatching eggs. Cancellations for chick orders must be made at least 21 days before your order is scheduled to ship. If you decide to cancel your order, please email us with your order number and the reason for cancellation. Sometimes it is necessary for Orchard Hill Poultry to cancel an order, and we reserve the right to do so. If we cancel your order, you will be issued a full refund.
NPIP
The National Poultry Improvement Plan tests all of our birds semi-annually. Our NPIP certification number is GA 57-1426. If you would like to receive the USDA NPIP 9-3 form for your eggs, please indicate so on your order. The form will be emailed to you once your order ships.
